From
time to time, the Museum will (at cost) provide
its volunteers and vehicles to
producers for use in commercials, movies,
documentaries -- even music videos.
Owing
to our non-profit organization status, any and
all funds raised through this work help
subsidize the ongoing maintenance and
restoration of our historic vehicle collection
and eases the burden on our members and other
fundraising activities.
Maintaining, insuring and fuelling our equipment
is an expensive proposition.
The
Museum's vehicles have been employed in a number
of recognizable productions, from a cola
commercial to feature-length films and music
videos. Several of our ferrets were featured in
the CBC series
Seeing Things and our
Sherman tank 'Bart' was prominently featured in Canadian pop
band Our Lady Peace's 1994 video Naveed.
More
recently, our equipment was featured in a few of
the CRB Foundation/Histori.ca's
public service award-winning history minutes
commemorating Canada's military achievements and
war-time history, specifically
Juno Beach,
Mona Parsons and The Dutch Liberation of
1945.
During the spring of 2007, the Museum's late
model APCs were used extensively in the
production of History Television's production
entitled
The Battle of Medak Pocket which
aired nationally in November 2007.
If
you are a film or television producer and are considering employing
any of the Museum's resources in
an upcoming production, please contact the Museum's
president
via email at to arrange further
discussions. |
