Visiting the Museum

Some tips to make your visit more enjoyable.

The Museum is composed of a static display section, Vehicle Bay, and some outdoor exhibits. Give  yourself at least an Hour; more if on an event weekend.

We are family friendly but children must be supervised and under control at all times.

Except on event weekends, there are no food or drink services on site.

There is a selection of gift items available for Purchase.

Do you have group tours, school groups and special events?

We support all  of those, but they must be booked in advance to ensure that we have enough volunteers available to meet your needs.Contact tours@ontrmuseum.ca or dial 905.728.6199 for more information or to arrange.

Can we ride on a tank?

Of course. We have special events where we offer rides on select military vehicles.  See our Tank Ride page for details.

I have heard that you have several vehicles being rebuilt or not on display.  Can I see them?

Access to our restoration areas is highly controlled for safety reasons.  The same is true for our vehicles in storage.  As such, any special access must be arranged beforehand.

I am a researcher.   Can I see some of the artifacts that you hold for my research?

One of mission elements of our museum is to spread knowledge.  As such, we appreciate working with researchers of all types.  However, many of our artifacts are fragile and valuable.  Access can be granted to verified researchers depending on the artifact(s) and the availability of staff.  In some cases depending on what is desired, fees may apply.  Contact info@ontrmuseum.ca or dial 905.728.6199 for more information or to arrange.

I have some memorabilia that I think the museum would appreciate.  Can I donate it?

An important role of our museum is to preserve history.  Donated artifacts is a large part of that effort.  However, conservation and storage of artifacts can be very expensive.  We would be happy to discuss any donation of memorabilia or artifacts with you.   Please have as much information and provenance as possible.   Contact inf0@ontrmuseum.ca or dial 905.728.6199 for more information.
